Bantam Tools 2017

When Danielle Applestone reached out for help selling her company Other Machine Co. I started by thinking of how I could help her sell it with my experience at MakerBot buying companies. After our conversation, i was enchanted and made an offer and bought the company myself. We changed the name to Bantam Tools, named after the small but powerful bantam chicken.

In 2024, we acquired Evil Mad Scientist and fully shifted our focus to art machines. We have a great engineering, marketing, machining, and assembly teams.

At Bantam Tools we make exceptional computer controlled machines for innovators. I love the way that our machines empower people to be creative and explore the frontier.

I bought some broken down industrial buildings on the waterfront in Peekskill, New York. We fixed them up and now we get to live the dream of doing meaningful work with smart people in a beautiful location. We also manage the Bantam Tools Machine Arts Gallery which showcases work by artists who use our machines in a sweet location next to the Peekskill Coffee House.
