Croton Artists 2023
In 2023 I joined the Croton Arts and Humanities Advisory Council in Croton on Hudson and took on a project to feature the artists that are known to have lived or connected to the village. I made plotter drawings and set them up as banners and they were installed around town. My idea here is that there is a trend of putting veteran banners all around town and I wanted to have an alternative for folks, like kids, to look up to so they could look up to vets and artists.
Croton is known for being a place for artists. During the McCarthy era when artists were villainized, many left the city to live in Croton on Hudson so there is a rich tradition.
In 2024 I did a second set for a total of 23 banners that were installed in 2025 on Maple St. I have another 25 ready to go for next year.
